How it works

INITIAL CONSULTATION

Before beginning treatment with Semaglutide injections, you must attend an initial consultation appointment to determine whether you are a candidate for Semaglutide. A thorough medical history, family history, and medication list will be reviewed. Patients with lab work completed within the last three months may bring it in for review. If you’ve started any new medications since your last labs, they’ll have to be tested again. CBC, CMP, and TSH must all be present. If the Nurse Practitioner believes you are a good candidate, the first injection can be administered at this time. If you don’t have recent lab results, you’ll be sent to the lab with orders, and the first injection won't be administered until the lab results arrive and you will be scheduled to return in one week for your first injection after your consultation.

LAB RESULTS

Once lab results are received, we’ll call you to review. Results may take a few days.

WEEKLY INJECTIONS

You will return weekly on the same day for subsequent injections.

*Please note that this program comes with B12 shots included every 2 weeks. Due to not having much appetite some people may feel low energy levels. B12 is known to increase energy levels and also helps burn fat into energy. This is optional but make a note that is available to you at no additional cost.

MONTHLY EVALUATIONS

Each month, you will be weighed in and evaluated. If you are continuing to lose weight, the Nurse Practitioner will determine if it is time to go up on your dose.

MEASURE SUCCESS INSIDE & OUT

Your labs may be repeated at 3 months if determined necessary by the Nurse Practitioner.

This program also includes access to meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, and other helpful resources.

Patients can expect their Provider to increase the medication dose gradually over 16-20 weeks. The average weight loss is 15% of one’s body weight. If you decide to go forward with Semaglutide, committing to at least 3 months of treatment is imperative to see results. You will get weekly injections under the skin, and the Nurse Practitioner will monitor your progress. Please be advised that semaglutide is dose-dependent upon the duration of use; meaning the longer you use it, the higher your dose will be, and the max dose is 2.4 mg a week. Therefore, the price will increase as your dose is adjusted and increased. Be prepared to make regular visits as part of your treatment plan. If you miss 14 consecutive days, without an injection, you will need to restart at the starting dose (0.25 mg).

WHAT IS SEMAGLUTIDE?

Semaglutide is a safe, FDA approved prescription weight loss aid. Semaglutide was originally created to treat patients with diabetes, however, a secondary application was later found as a medicine used for weight loss, to lower blood sugar levels, and to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events. Semaglutide works by increasing insulin release, lowering the amount of glucagon released, delaying gastric emptying, and reducing appetite.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR SEMAGLUTIDE?

We receive our Semaglutide from a 503B Pharmacy

503B facilities are referred to by the FDA as an outsourcing facility and they are heavily monitored by the FDA.
In a 503B facility, before any new product can be brought to market, multiple batches must be made and submitted for testing and stability studies. While this may result in a longer lead time to getting new products to customers, this ensures that every batch made during normal production is consistent in quality and meets the high standards set by the FDA and CGMP. Not only must products be validated but testing methods must also be validated to ensure accuracy and precision, in accordance with USP standards. All vendors that supply raw materials must be thoroughly vetted, and on-site inspections are performed by the Quality Assurance team for all critical suppliers.

HOW FAST DOES SEMAGLUTIDE WORK?

It typically takes about two weeks for Semaglutide to start working in the body. While taking Semaglutide, some people begin to see results within the first eight weeks, but most begin to see results within 12 weeks. Lifestyle changes can impact this timeframe.

DOES SEMAGLUTIDE HAVE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Most patients experience few side effects while in the program, which are considered mild and improve over time. Some common side effects of include:

Abdomen (stomach) pain
Bloating (gas)
Constipation
Diarrhea
Injection site pain
Nausea
Vomiting

Fortunately, patients can lessen or prevent these side effects by paying attention to what they eat. Fatty, fast, fried and foods high in sugar are most likely to cause nausea while taking Semaglutide. Dr. Raman recommends that her Semaglutide patients consider the following tips:

Avoid fatty, fast, fried, and foods high in sugar
Drink water or unsweetened tea (clear drinks)
Eat slowly, and eat smaller meals (good advice for any diet)
Eat bland and light foods (don’t worry, you will still feel satisfied)

ARE THERE ANY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM?

Next Level Healthcare requires that you be 18 years or older and have a BMI of 27 or higher to join our Semaglutide Medical Weight Loss Program.

IS THERE A SPECIAL DIET I MUST FOLLOW WHILE TAKING SEMAGLUTIDE?

There is not a "special" diet that must be followed while taking Semaglutide. However, it’s important to remember, for any weight loss medication, pairing it with a well-balanced diet is critical.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet while on the Semaglutide weight loss program will accelerate your results and ensure you get the maximum benefit from the treatment. A balanced diet should consist of all the major food groups including:

Fruits and Vegetables: These are low in calories and high in nutrients making them a great choice for weight loss.
Lean Proteins: They help to keep you fuller for longer, reducing the likelihood of overeating.
Whole Grains: Rich in fiber, whole grains help to control your appetite and manage your weight.
Healthy Fats: Avocados, nuts, and seeds provide essential fatty acids that contribute to satiety.
Hydration: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and aid digestion.

In addition, reducing your intake of sugar and processed foods is advisable when taking Semaglutide.
